Why I Created Merger Nation

To level the playing field for small business buyers and sellers.

I’ve personally bought and sold dozens of businesses. Each time, I sought to change an old, tired industry in need of modernization.

The way lawyers provided legal services to small and mid-sized businesses needed to change. Like most entrepreneurs, I hate delays, inconsistent communication and high unpredictable fees.

There was a place in the market for a lawyer willing to offer fair, affordable, predictable rates, coupled with savvy, experienced counsel, for small and mid-sized business owners who are buying or selling a business.

Merger Nation fills that void.

About Me

I received my B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania, magna cum laude, my J.D. from Villanova University School of Law, cum laude, and an LL.M. from New York University School of Law. I was the Managing Editor (Symposium) of the Villanova Law Review, a federal judicial law clerk and an attorney at two of the largest law firms in the U.S. I’ve also founded, acquired and grown many businesses—from large private equity backed ventures to self-funded businesses, each of which was sold to a large industry consolidator or a private equity fund.

Perhaps more importantly, I deeply understand the art and science of buying and selling businesses and have a unique ability to help entrepreneurs reach their goals, I have an ethical obligation to do exactly that. And that’s what I’m doing through Merger Nation.

About Economic Ecosystems

The work we do at Merger Nation benefits business owners and their families most directly, but there are many other beneficiaries. When a small to mid-sized business is sold, entrepreneurs have more time and money to reinvest in other businesses and charitable causes.

We also put our money where our heart is by donating at least 2% of all of our revenue to causes that help the defenseless including the homeless and animal welfare programs.

Between us and our clients, we are creating our own economic ecosystem, a virtuous cycle of positive change.
